Visitors are allowed into this one tomb, however, looking along this ridge, there are a number of locked doors in both directions. One thing is certain, they have all been robbed in the course of thousands of years, and have all been examined by the national office of antiquities. The rest is apparently up to the Bene Hasan caretakers. |

Next we drove into the desert until we saw these caves in the distance. Those used to be tombs, to be sure. |

And once again, Bene Hassan armed guard and national tourist police and more barred doors, and a few more dollars change hands. All is well. |
